ZHENGZHOU, May 19 (Xinhua) -- An international photography exhibition opened Friday in Zhengzhou, capital of central China's Henan Province, showcasing outstanding works from home and abroad.
The 17th China International Photographic Art Exhibition, organized by China Photographers Association (CPA) and Zhengzhou city government, aims to showcase achievements made in photography and increase exchanges among photographers around the world.
The organizers said that they received over 230,000 submissions by
photographers from 109 countries and regions, and selected 296 pieces for the exhibition.
"We hope the event can encourage communication and mutual learning among photographers around the world to promote the development of photography,"
said Li Ge, president of the CPA.
The exhibition will run until June 18.
