Craftsman Geng Baoguo polishes the details of lacquerwares at his workshop in Pingyao, north China's Shanxi Province, on Oct. 16, 2018. Lacquerwares are objects decoratively covered with lacquer. The varnished lacquerwares in Pingyao are made of natural lacquer and varnished using a special hand technique. After several steps of handicraft techniques, they are decorated with various colorful patterns and installed with ornaments. The surface of finished lacquerwares are smooth and lustrous. Having a history of over 1,000 years, the Pingyao lacquerware was listed as one of the national intangible cultural heritages of China in 2006. (Xinhua/Cao Yang)
