BEIJING, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- "Chairman Mao 1949" will hit Chinese big screens on Sept. 20, ahead of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
The film focuses on the history of 1949 from the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee moving to Fragrant Hills in northwest Beijing in March 1949 to the founding of the PRC on Oct. 1.
It will tell the stories of CPC leaders at that time, including Mao Zedong, in negotiating with the Kuomintang, directing the War of Liberation, laying out economic policies and making preparation for the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the founding ceremony of a new China.
