CHENGDU, Dec. 26 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition displaying the print masterpieces of Western artists opened in the city of Chengdu, southwest China's Sichuan Province Wednesday.
The exhibition, titled "A Glimpse of Western Masterpieces," is being held at the Chengdu Museum, presenting a total of 94 prints by over 40 artists including Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, French artist Henri Matisse, Russian-French artist Marc Chagall and Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn.
The prints, collected by the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University, cover subjects such as landscape, figures and narratives and a variety of styles including classicism, romanticism and cubism, showing the development of Western art from the Renaissance to the early 20th century.
The exhibition will last until March 8, 2020.
